NEW PARENT & STUDENT
MEMORABLE FEEDBACK & QUOTES

Thanks for a great class. They learned a lot.  My boys chattered about it all night and into the morning. They went behind closed doors to make up more scripts.Your warm-up games were valuable as you said it was OK to be silly and turn your brain off so you can just let the creativity flow.
They ran back out to the car to get their scripts and just kept on playing all night. So, despite one of my boys saying he was tired at the end of class, he clearly wasn’t. My boys (Age 9 and 10) were happy to show off all that they learned for several hours at home.

Thanks again. Parent, Alexandra E., Marin County (Dec. 2025)

“HI JUDY. You teach skills that improve lives. I attended several classes over 30 years ago at age 12. I am so excited that you are still teaching. Your awesome credits coaching kids who are working in TV/films and as voiceovers is exciting! You made a great impression on me with your wisdom and vivacious personality. Your classes enhanced my confidence for social interactions in all of life’s settings. We all play roles in our various jobs and hats that we wear. For several years I worked in the TV/film Industry behind the scenes in Calif. I produced the Joey Awards for the San Jose Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Recently I have utilized skills I learned with you in teaching our homeschool programs.”
Bless you. Hugs, Wendy B. 1/2025 (California)

(Photo of former student, Wendy B at age 12)

“My daughter, Emerson, age 10, has learned so much and has fun in your zoom classes. You are always looking out for her and helping her get auditions. The way you reach out on her behalf means so much! I am so grateful that you are in our lives!”
Thank you, Mrs. Keenen, South Bay, Atherton, CA

“My teenage son really enjoyed the class with your staff and Deborah on May 18.  2025. He specifically said all the topics were extremely relevant and will help him with future auditions. He would like to attend again. My husband and I have a theater kid which is uncharted territory for us and we are trying to help him fulfill his dreams the best we can.  Looking forward to working with you again soon.”
Parent, Jessica G., South Bay, 2025

“Judy, Thank you so much for the Self-Tape Audition class! It was SO helpful.  You and your staff’s expertise was enlightening. It really was great for my daughter to see other kids doing this too, knowing she wasn’t alone putting together videos in crazy timeframes.”
Parent Crystal L. 2025 from San Jose.

“I liked getting feedback from my classmates about my performances. I took notes to remember what they said to help me in future. I liked watching everyone perform. Zoom makes that easy.”

“I liked how the students and coach gave feedback to help each student improve. Then I really liked watching their skills improve when they took their 2nd turn.”

Tips for the Future from Judy Berlin,
Director/Founder since 1981

Investing in your child’s education will last a lifetime.

We enhance acting, improve script reading and communication skills, build confidence and make learning fun. Enrollment is limited to give students more attention. Evaluations with feedback are emailed following classes.
Directors now ask actors to show their personalities and share their interests in interviews so they learn what makes them tick. We teach a wide variety of topics and we also teach parents and ages 16-20 how to create self-tape auditions. Having the correct format and size for self-tapes is important or casting and film directors will not look at the audition tapes. Having familiarity with cold script reading and how to introduce yourself helps actors get cast.

Judy Berlin with Staff

OUR NEW TEACHING METHODS & PURPOSE

Judy Berlin, Director/Founder is a visionary

Judy created a quality training to develop creativity and confidence with experienced and talented coaches. Shy youngsters gain confidence and outgoing children find an outlet for their creative energy. We teach acting and audition skills for TV/Film, improvisation and voiceover.
Students explore different topics with experienced casting and film directors and talent managers. Auditioning from a home studio on zoom is easy! Getting cast depends upon the ability to listen, take direction, and understand the audition process.
Students learn how to set up a home studio. Parents learn how to make Self-Tape Auditions and Eco Casts. Students go into breakout rooms to practice a script with a partner and learn to use camera angles.

ABOUT AUDITIONS, NEW FORMATS, & LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

If you perform with confidence at auditions, talent agents, film directors and casting directors will start to take notice.  Convey in your interview that you believe in yourself; your abilities and deserve to get cast. In time your auditions will impress the directors which will lead to getting cast in supporting, co-star or lead role. These skills can also lead to becoming leaders at school such as class presidents. Actors who get cast are the ones who are constantly working on their skills. Aim to become an engaging actor and get cast in the parts you deserve.  Acting topics include comedic and dramatic acting, cold script reading, improvisation, voiceover, storytelling, monologues, scene study, TV commercials, and hosting.

Auditions now take place on Zoom or on a Self-Taped Audition. Directors now want to experience your personality and learn what makes you tick. I teach parents and older teens age 16-20, how to make Self-Taped Auditions with correct formats, size, and labels or agents and directors will not look at them.

MEMORABLE MESSAGE TO GIVE US ALL HOPE IF A HEALTH CRISIS RETURNS!

Belgium Psychotherapist Ester Perel shared valuable insights in a National TV interview on Amanpour & Co in 2020 and Jan. 2024. She has a Pod Cast.

Journalist, Christine Amanpour asked Ms. Perel:
Do we have permission to feel happy in the midst of a crisis?”

Ms Perel said:
“Being confined 2020-2021 was a challenging time. Our minds traveled and our Imaginations soared. We need to allow ourselves to feel hopeful that there is a ray of light shining through the crack. NOW it is wise to limit the time your child works at a computer. Get out and be social – join classes – use our imaginations thru improv – tell stories – sing. Using our imaginations will keep us alive and resilient.”

NEW TIPS TO ENHANCE YOUR RELATIONSHIP & THE MENTAL HEALTH of YOUR CHILD

Our programs encourage children to use their imaginations which helps maintain and improve their mental health. During the holidays encourage experiences together as a family rather than focusing on gifts.

REVIEW NEW TIPS & QUESTIONS TO ASK CHILDREN MORE OFTEN NOW TO:

Increase your child’s self-awareness; maintain mental health; keep communication open and boost moods

DUE TO THE EXPERIENCES FAMILIES HAD SINCE EARLY 2020 DURING OUR HEALTH CRISIS, ASK CHILDREN THESE QUESTIONS MORE OFTEN NOW:

– How do you feel rather than asking them how their grade was on a math test.
– How are you sleeping?
– Do you want to re-design your home workspace with art or a plant?
– How is your communication with your siblings, friends nearby and at school?
– What do you like watching on TV or YouTube?
– Do you feel safe at school?
– How are your eating habits?
– Do you understand why you wear a mask?
-What do you want to do on weekends with family or friends?

MORE TIPS FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE HOME SCHOOLED or ATTEND SCHOOL.

Before school starts go outside and feel the sunshine and feel the grass with your bare feet. If your child works remotely from home arrange workspaces near a window to look out at nature. Add color or calendar with photos of animals or nature and a small plant in their workspace.  Post their original art. Take a break for music or a walk. Water is calming and uplifts moods so add swimming, soaking in a bathtub, and more showersFor anxiety crunching on carrots or chewing gum may help. Oversee what children watch on the internet and avoid watching TV News. To take fear or dislike of wearing masks discuss how masks protect us from germs so we stay healthy and have fewer colds.  Create an art activity decorating masks with stickers. Make a mask for their stuffed animals and dolls and create a skit
